About the role
We are on the lookout for a dedicated and high-achieving Fleet Specialist to join our team in Palmerston North, New Zealand. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing Halter's on-farm hardware systems. Your responsibilities will include ensuring optimal performance, swiftly addressing technical challenges, and contributing to the overall reliability of our hardware across our customer base. This position is hands-on and requires a proactive mindset, technical expertise, and a commitment to excellence in field operations.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Maintain and repair Halter's infrastructure to guarantee smooth operational flow.
- Diagnose hardware issues and relay findings to the appropriate teams for resolution.
- Transition seamlessly between various tasks, from infrastructure upgrades to delivering essential equipment on-site.
- Provide on-the-ground support during farm deployments, troubleshooting issues and ensuring successful installations.
- Participate in a global on-call roster to address tower-related incidents and proactively seek solutions.
- Collaborate with diverse teams within Halter to align efforts and achieve positive customer outcomes.
- Tackle and resolve technical challenges promptly to minimize disruptions in farm operations.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously to adapt to the dynamic nature of the role.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data from hardware systems to optimize processes and enhance decision-making.
- Develop and oversee a maintenance system tailored for the New Zealand market.
- Travel within the South Island region and occasionally across New Zealand will be required.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with tools, electrical work, construction, networking, or equipment fitting is essential.
- A proactive and determined attitude, ready to confront challenges and find solutions on the fly.
- Practical skills and resourcefulness to handle a variety of tasks, even without formal technical training.
- Strong time management abilities to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Team-oriented mindset with effective collaboration skills across different locations.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality service, ensuring Halter's infrastructure operates at peak performance.
- Willingness to travel frequently, including both spontaneous and planned trips, potentially spending several nights away from home each week.
Nice to have
- Experience in the agriculture sector is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with agri-tech innovations and their applications in farming.
- Previous roles that involved customer service or technical support.
