As Senior Program Manager, you will serve as the central command point for specific customer programs, owning the full book-to-bill process. You will provide daily project status updates to customers and maintain rigorous oversight of project timeliness, budget adherence, and technical specifications. This position requires accountability for one or multiple programs, driving collaboration and shared responsibility across departments to achieve overall program success. The role demands a leader who can synthesize complex information and guide projects from initial concept through full production.
Key Responsibilities
You will establish project objectives by dissecting proposals, customer blueprints, and management guidance. Using this foundation, you will design detailed production pathways and shop floor instructions that are clear, executable, and efficient. You will orchestrate the phase gate release process for every new product within a customer's portfolio, ensuring sequential and logical progress.
A core function is to champion order progression by monitoring status around the clock and resolving issues that threaten on-time delivery. You will translate ambiguous customer technical demands into precise, actionable engineering requirements for internal teams. Coordination with production control will be essential to balance capacity and safeguard schedule integrity for all active programs.
You will drive cross-functional synchronization to eliminate communication gaps between engineering, planning, and factory execution. This includes working directly with other project managers and the production team on the factory floor to create viable build plans. You will interface with customers' technical teams to confirm designs and remove deployment barriers.
Additional duties include determining project responsibilities by identifying distinct project phases and elements, then assigning personnel accordingly. You will determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards. You will also determine project schedules by studying project plans and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing all project elements.
You will control the project plan by reviewing designs, specifications, and plans; managing scheduling changes; and recommending corrective actions. Ensuring every project has a robust quality control plan and a detailed build plan is mandatory. You will control project costs by approving expenditures and administering contractor contracts for your assigned programs.
You will communicate customer demand and forecasts to production planning to ensure ample capacity for current and upcoming programs. Finally, you will prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends to recommend timely actions. Maintaining product and company reputation by adhering to all federal and state regulations is a fundamental duty. You will take overall accountability for the execution of orders, including profitability, and contribute to team efforts as needed.
Requirements
The candidate must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or a related discipline. A minimum of 8+ years of project experience is required, specifically within the manufacturing of complex electro-mechanical systems. Demonstrated experience guiding projects through Engineer to Order or New Product Introduction processes is essential.
Proficiency with the MS Office Suite of tools and exposure to schedule management software is required. You must show proficiency with CAD, 3D modeling, and SolidWorks for design interpretation. The ability to manage projects successfully in medium to large-scale manufacturing environments is a prerequisite for success in this role.
