Bamboohr is seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to join our team for the Oko West Gold Project located in Georgetown, Guyana. What you'll do

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement project plans, ensuring alignment with overall project goals and timelines.
Conduct thorough geological assessments and analyses to identify potential gold reserves and inform mining strategies.
Oversee daily operations at the Oko West site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
Manage and mentor a team of engineers, geologists, and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Develop and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, including government agencies, community leaders, and suppliers, to facilitate project success.
Prepare and present regular reports on project progress, challenges, and opportunities to senior management and stakeholders.
Implement best practices in mining operations, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and resource optimization.
Monitor and evaluate project performance metrics, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet or exceed targets.
Ensure that all equipment and facilities are maintained in optimal condition, coordinating with maintenance teams as needed.
Participate in risk assessment and management activities, identifying potential issues and developing mitigation strategies.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in mining technology, integrating relevant innovations into project operations.
Contribute to the development and execution of sustainability initiatives, ensuring that the project minimizes its environmental impact.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in the mining industry, with a focus on gold mining operations.
Proven track record of managing mining projects from inception to completion, demonstrating strong leadership skills.
In-depth knowledge of mining regulations, safety standards, and environmental practices in Guyana.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in project management software and tools, with a solid understanding of budgeting and financial management.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
Willingness to work on-site in Georgetown, with potential travel to other locations as required.

Nice to have

Master's degree in a relevant field or professional certification in project management.
Experience with community engagement and corporate social responsibility initiatives in the mining sector.
Familiarity with advanced mining technologies and methodologies, such as automation and digitalization.
Previous experience working in remote or challenging environments.
Knowledge of local languages or dialects to enhance communication with community members.
