About the role
Bamboohr is seeking a dedicated Nutritionist to join the Oko Gold Project team in Georgetown, Guyana. What you'll do
- Design and implement comprehensive nutrition programs aimed at enhancing the health and performance of employees at the Oko Gold Project.
- Conduct nutritional assessments to identify the dietary needs of workers and develop personalized meal plans accordingly.
- Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure that meals served at the site meet nutritional standards and cater to diverse dietary requirements.
- Provide education and training sessions on nutrition, healthy eating habits, and lifestyle choices to promote overall well-being among employees.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition programs, making adjustments based on feedback and health outcomes.
- Work closely with occupational health professionals to integrate nutrition into broader health and wellness initiatives.
- Stay updated on the latest research and trends in nutrition, applying this knowledge to enhance program offerings.
- Develop promotional materials and resources to raise awareness about the importance of nutrition in the workplace.
- Engage with local health authorities and organizations to align our nutrition programs with public health guidelines and initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of nutrition assessments, program participation, and health outcomes to report on the impact of initiatives.
- Foster a supportive environment that encourages employees to prioritize their health and nutrition.
- Participate in health fairs and community outreach programs to promote the company's commitment to employee wellness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a nutrition-related role, preferably in a corporate or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of nutritional science and its application in a workplace environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse groups.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver educational programs and workshops on nutrition.
- Experience in menu planning and food service management is a plus.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in the workplace.
- Strong analytical skills to assess program effectiveness and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Nice to have
- Experience working in the mining or resource sector is advantageous.
- Knowledge of local food systems and cultural dietary practices in Guyana.
- Certification in health coaching or wellness program development.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and another language relevant to the workforce.
