About the role

Bamboohr is seeking a dedicated Camp Recreation Attendant for the OKO GOLD Project, located in Georgetown, Guyana. What you'll do

• Develop and implement a diverse range of recreational activities tailored to the interests and needs of camp residents, including sports, games, and wellness programs.
• Organize and facilitate team-building exercises and events that promote camaraderie and collaboration among camp personnel.
• Maintain a safe and welcoming environment by ensuring all recreational equipment is in good condition and that safety protocols are followed during activities.
• Monitor participation levels and gather feedback from camp residents to continuously improve recreational offerings and address any concerns.
• Coordinate with other departments to schedule activities that align with operational needs and ensure minimal disruption to work schedules.
• Assist in the planning and execution of special events, such as holiday celebrations, tournaments, and themed nights, to enhance community spirit.
• Provide support for physical fitness initiatives, including leading exercise classes or organizing group workouts to promote health and well-being.
• Serve as a point of contact for camp residents regarding recreational inquiries, providing information and assistance as needed.
• Document participation in activities and prepare reports on engagement levels and feedback to share with management.
• Collaborate with health and safety personnel to ensure compliance with all regulations and standards related to recreational activities.
• Participate in regular training and development sessions to enhance skills and stay updated on best practices in recreation management.
• Foster an inclusive environment by encouraging participation from all camp residents, regardless of their skill levels or interests.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a recreational or camp setting, ideally in a role that involved organizing activities and managing groups.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse individuals and teams.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to recreational activities and equipment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate various activity schedules.
• Proven organizational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
• A valid first aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain certification prior to starting the role.
