What you'll do

• Lead the medical team in providing comprehensive healthcare services to all employees at the Oko West Project, ensuring timely and effective treatment of injuries and illnesses.
• Develop and implement health and wellness programs that address the specific needs of the workforce, including preventive care and health education initiatives.
• Conduct regular health assessments and screenings to monitor the well-being of employees, identifying potential health risks and implementing appropriate interventions.
• Collaborate with site management to establish and maintain health and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
• Manage medical emergencies on-site, providing immediate care and coordinating evacuation procedures when necessary.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Provide training and support to staff on health-related topics, including first aid, emergency response, and occupational health practices.
• Liaise with external healthcare providers and emergency services to ensure seamless access to additional medical resources when required.
• Monitor and report on health trends within the workforce, using data to inform decision-making and improve health outcomes.
• Participate in incident investigations related to health and safety, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with a valid medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in occupational health or emergency medicine.
• Previous experience in a mining or industrial environment is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with employees at all levels.
• Proficiency in medical software and electronic health record systems.
• Knowledge of local health regulations and industry standards related to occupational health and safety.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a focus on patient care and safety.
