You will own the design and execution of scalable geolocation and compliance solutions that directly impact the security posture of our global customer base. You will translate ambiguous business risk into clear technical requirements while collaborating with engineering, product, and operations teams across the world. This role requires a bias for action, where you investigate anomalies, validate controls, and iterate on processes to keep our systems resilient. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of location-based data flows and ensuring that our solutions meet the highest standards of accuracy and reliability. You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define, implement, and continuously improve policies that reduce fraud and increase user trust. You will mentor peers on best practices and contribute to the knowledge base that drives consistent execution across the organization. You will act as a technical and procedural owner for complex workflows, ensuring that edge cases are identified and resolved before they affect customers. You will contribute to the strategic direction of our compliance technology by analyzing operational data and proposing improvements that scale with business growth.

What you'll do

Analyze large volumes of geolocation and transaction data to identify patterns, anomalies, and indicators of potential fraud.

Design and implement scalable scripts and tools that automate the validation and reconciliation of location-based signals across multiple data sources.

Collaborate with product managers to define requirements for new compliance features and ensure technical feasibility during the delivery lifecycle.

Partner with engineering teams to integrate geolocation checks into existing workflows while maintaining high performance and stability.

Develop and maintain documentation for operational procedures, data definitions, and troubleshooting guides for internal and external audiences.

Perform root cause analysis on flagged transactions and work with stakeholders to close gaps through process enhancements and technical fixes.

Monitor key metrics related to fraud detection accuracy, false positive rates, and detection latency to evaluate the effectiveness of current controls.

Support the implementation of new regulatory requirements by mapping business rules to technical configurations and verifying correct execution.

Conduct testing of location-based policies in staging environments and validate outcomes before promoting changes to production systems.

Coordinate with regional teams to ensure that local compliance expectations are understood and reflected in global implementation strategies.

Leverage visualization tools to present complex data relationships in a clear and actionable format for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of detection logic by reviewing outcomes and proposing refinements based on observed behavior.

Support the onboarding of new customers by providing technical guidance on how location data should be collected, processed, and reported.

Participate in incident response activities during critical events, documenting steps taken and lessons learned for future prevention.

Requirements

You must have the right to work in Canada.

You must reside in Vancouver, BC.

You must have at least three years of experience in a role involving geolocation, fraud prevention, or compliance technology.

You must have hands-on experience with scripting and automation using languages such as Python or JavaScript.

You must have a strong understanding of IP geolocation data and how it is used in fraud detection scenarios.

You must be comfortable working with structured and unstructured data sources, including logs, databases, and APIs.

You must have experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, global environment.

You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

Experience with compliance-focused products in regulated industries such as gaming, financial services, or iGaming.

Familiarity with privacy regulations and data protection principles relevant to location data.

Knowledge of containerization and cloud deployment patterns using platforms such as AWS or similar infrastructure providers.

Experience with SQL and database querying for large data sets.

Understanding of risk scoring models and how they are operationalized in production systems.

Hours are aligned with Pacific Time business hours.

Travel is not required for this role.
