Senior Product Manager, Studio Team
Job description
About the role
GameChanger is seeking a Senior Product Manager to join our newly formed Studio team, a small and fast-moving group tasked with answering a critical strategic question: is this opportunity worth pursuing. In this role, you will partner closely with our Strategy team and a designer to run focused validation sprints that test emerging business ideas, such as entering new sports or international markets. Rather than shipping features, your primary output will be confidence, delivering evidence-backed recommendations on whether an opportunity deserves deeper investment or should be deprioritized. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, behaving more like a founder than a feature owner, and proactively pulling in partners from User Research, Strategy, Data & Analytics, Product, Engineering, and beyond when the work demands it. This position reports directly to our SVP of Product, and success will be defined by your ability to quickly separate promising ideas from distractions. If you thrive in ambiguous, high-leverage situations and are motivated by building clarity from uncertainty, this is the role for you.
Key facts
What you'll do
Translate emerging business ideas into sharp, testable hypotheses in partnership with the Strategy team, defining the riskiest assumptions and the specific evidence that would validate or invalidate them.
Run tightly scoped validation sprints with your design partner, choosing the fastest credible path to an answer and keeping the team moving instead of polishing.
Size opportunities and model potential business cases, analyzing competitive dynamics and market conditions to pressure-test commercial viability beyond surface-level customer interest.
Get in front of real coaches, players, families, and prospective customers through surveys, interviews, onsite ethnographic research, demand tests, or prototypes in market.
Synthesize customer evidence and business analysis into crisp go/no-go recommendations for leadership, including the honest recommendation to not pursue an idea.
Package validated opportunities for a smooth handoff to product teams so they can build with clear evidence and reduced risk.
Define how the Studio operates as a founding member, shaping the playbook, sprint cadence, decision framework, and the standard for what "enough confidence" means.
Leverage AI tools aggressively across research synthesis, analysis, and prototyping support so a two-person team can evaluate far more than its size suggests.
Balance speed with rigor by prioritizing evidence over opinions and maintaining a bias toward action without sacrificing thoughtful analysis.
Act as the central owner for opportunity evaluation, coordinating cross-functional inputs and ensuring alignment on priorities and timelines.
Communicate findings and tradeoffs clearly to executives, translating complex research and data into narratives that inform strategic decisions.
Challenge assumptions early and often, inviting dissenting views and stress-testing ideas before committing resources to any direction.
Maintain a living view of the evidence for each opportunity, tracking signals that indicate progress or risk and adjusting the validation plan accordingly.
Champion a culture of intellectual honesty, where ideas are evaluated on their merits and the team is comfortable walking away from unpromising bets.
Requirements
5+ years of experience managing technology products, with a focus on mobile or consumer products, ideally including 0-to-1 work such as early-stage startups, new product incubation, or founding a company of your own.
A strategic, business-minded thinker who is as comfortable sizing a market and building a lightweight business case as talking to customers, and who cares as much about whether we should pursue something as how we would.
Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and a doer who figures out the fastest path to an answer and goes to get it without waiting for a mandate, researcher, or analyst.
Comfortable operating with high autonomy and ambiguity, proactively pulling in collaborators rather than waiting for a team to form around you.
Experienced with data-informed decision-making, capable of running your own analysis to size opportunities and interpret experiment results.
Skilled at customer discovery, able to plan, recruit for, and conduct interviews and lightweight research without a dedicated research team.
A strong communicator who can distill messy, ambiguous findings into a clear narrative, recommendation, and tradeoffs for executives, building relationships and influence across all levels of the organization.
Intellectually honest, motivated by finding the truth about an opportunity rather than by making every idea look like a winner.
