What you'll do
- Develop and maintain detailed 3D models using industry-standard software to support construction and design processes.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to gather project requirements and translate them into accurate models.
- Conduct clash detection and resolution to identify and mitigate potential issues before construction begins, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Create and manage project documentation, including model updates, reports, and presentations for stakeholders.
- Assist in the development of VDC strategies and best practices to enhance project delivery and efficiency.
- Participate in project meetings to provide insights and updates on modeling progress and challenges.
- Train and mentor junior team members in VDC processes and software tools, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in VDC and BIM (Building Information Modeling) to incorporate innovative solutions into projects.
- Support the integration of VDC with other project management tools and systems to streamline workflows.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations in all modeling activities.
- Collaborate with field teams to provide on-site support and ensure models are accurately implemented during construction.
- Contribute to post-project evaluations to assess the effectiveness of VDC practices and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in VDC or BIM modeling within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD, with a strong understanding of 3D modeling principles.
- Experience with clash detection tools and processes, as well as familiarity with construction documentation standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.
Nice to have
- Certification in BIM or VDC methodologies from a recognized organization.
- Experience with additional software such as SketchUp, Civil 3D, or GIS tools.
- Knowledge of sustainable building practices and LEED certification processes.
- Familiarity with project management software and methodologies, such as Agile or Lean.
- Previous experience in a client-facing role, enhancing customer relationships and satisfaction.
