What you'll do
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of complex technical programs from initial concept to mass production, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer needs.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, resources, and risk management strategies, to guide project teams and stakeholders.
- Manage the program budget, tracking expenditures and ensuring cost control throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Create and maintain product cost models, updating them regularly to reflect design changes, manufacturing costs, and other financial considerations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for program stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress, risks, and issues, and facilitating communication across teams.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
- Implement structured project management methodologies, including defining scope, creating schedules, and establishing quality metrics to monitor progress.
- Assess project risks proactively, developing mitigation plans and escalating issues as needed to senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement in project workflows, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and reduce time-to-market.
- Coordinate with manufacturing partners, both domestic and international, to align on production schedules, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant standards, regulations, and quality requirements, including ITAR if applicable.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings, workshops, and reviews to ensure alignment and transparency across teams.
- Support new product introductions and scale-up activities, providing technical guidance and project oversight.
- Contribute to the development of team capabilities by sharing best practices and mentoring junior project managers when appropriate.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in Program Management, preferably within hardware or complex product development environments.
- Strong understanding of the technical product design lifecycle, from concept through manufacturing, testing, and deployment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
- Experience in developing and maintaining product cost models, with an understanding of manufacturing and supply chain costs.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical and business information clearly to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams, fostering teamwork and resolving conflicts effectively.
- Proficiency with project management tools and software for scheduling, resource allocation, risk assessment, and progress tracking.
- Knowledge of financial analysis and budgeting within project management contexts.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, science, or a related technical field.
- Ability to analyze technical issues, develop solutions, and make data-driven decisions.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, especially in hardware development, is a plus.

- Experience in shipping technically complex products as a design engineer.
- Background working in startup environments or entrepreneurial settings.
- Experience managing hardware development projects with international manufacturing partners.
- Knowledge of ITAR regulations and compliance standards relevant to hardware products.
- Prior experience working with cross-border supply chains and logistics.

- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate collaboration and reporting.
- Ability to adapt to new tools and processes quickly, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Compensation
At Form Labs, we believe in sharing our success with our team members. The annual base salary for this role ranges from $120,000 to $180,000, depending on experience and skills. In addition to base salary, the total compensation package includes equity in the form of RSUs, aligning your success with the company's growth.
