Fonoa is on a mission to revolutionize tax compliance for digital-first companies. We are seeking a Staff Product Designer to contribute to the development of our AI-native Tax Operating System. In this role, you will be responsible for designing innovative AI-driven products and enhancing user experiences while simplifying intricate tax workflows. You will collaborate with a talented team of designers, product managers, engineers, and tax specialists, playing a critical role in shaping our platform's future.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Design the next generation of Fonoa's offerings by creating AI-enhanced products and experiences that integrate seamlessly into our Tax Operating System.
- Take ownership of the entire product design process, from identifying problems and conducting research to interaction design, visual crafting, prototyping, and final launch.
- Transform complex tax, regulatory, and AI workflows into user-friendly experiences that foster customer trust.
- Employ systems thinking to create scalable design foundations, contribute to the development of our new design system, and establish design patterns that facilitate future product development.
- Collaborate with various teams, including Product, Engineering, AI, Tax, and User Research, to influence product direction and ensure alignment with user needs.
- Uphold high standards of quality by advocating for exceptional craftsmanship, meticulous attention to detail, and thoughtful execution in all aspects of product development.
- Engage in user research to gather insights that inform design decisions and enhance user experiences.
- Mentor junior designers and contribute to the growth of the design team by sharing knowledge and best practices.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in product design, with a strong focus on interaction design, visual aesthetics, motion design, and the nuances that contribute to a seamless user experience.
- Demonstrated ability to think in systems, designing not only individual user experiences but also the overarching product architecture that supports them.
- Experience in creating or significantly enhancing design systems that are scalable across multiple products and teams.
- Background in designing complex B2B, enterprise, fintech, developer, or infrastructure products, with a focus on simplifying intricate processes.
- A genuine interest in AI and its potential to create meaningful user experiences, rather than merely incorporating AI for novelty.
- A robust portfolio showcasing your end-to-end design ownership, logical thinking, and quantifiable impact, beyond just visually appealing designs.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly, engage in constructive discussions, and work effectively within cross-functional teams.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with tax compliance or regulatory frameworks, particularly in the context of digital commerce.
- Experience working in fast-paced startup environments, demonstrating adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Knowledge of user research methodologies and experience in conducting user testing to validate design decisions.
Skills & tools
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Familiarity with prototyping tools like InVision or Framer.
- Understanding of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret user data and feedback effectively.
