You will own the end-to-end delivery of Flynn's portfolio of internal and external mobile and web applications, translating business priorities into well-planned, high-quality releases. You will lead a collaborative in-house software development team from the Mississauga office, guiding experienced developers and quality-assurance professionals through technically challenging work in a fast-paced environment. What you'll do

Lead sprint planning and execution across the application portfolio, with senior developers driving planning sessions and advocating for what goes into each release.

Own the end-to-end delivery lifecycle for multiple concurrent products, turning business-prioritized work into well-planned, high-quality, tested releases.

Partner closely with the Business Analysis team who own analysis and product-owner responsibilities, organizing their handovers and balancing work against technical priorities.

Empower an experienced team to own their craft, their development processes, and Flynn's technical-debt posture through guidance and accountability.

Make the call on the minimal viable release, committing to scope and putting the right guardrails in place once a decision to build is made.

Keep quality assurance independent in how it plans and reports its outcomes, ensuring testing is never influenced by the development team.

Zoom in on detailed technical questions with your developers and zoom back out to build the tactics that deliver on the overall strategy and business objectives.

Champion a safe, high-trust environment where the team is performing, continually upskilling, and trusted to make decisions that improve outcomes.

Leverage your leadership and communication skills to align stakeholders, clarify requirements, and maintain focus on business value throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Promote continuous improvement by refining workflows, removing blockers, and supporting funded training and career development for the team.

Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners to ensure alignment, transparency, and timely resolution of issues.

Monitor delivery health, surface risks early, and drive corrective actions to keep releases on schedule and within agreed quality standards.

Champion the use of best practices in security, code quality, and architecture to protect Flynn's systems and support long-term scalability.

Act as a role model for ownership, accountability, and professionalism, embodying the values of the Flynn Group in every decision and interaction.

Requirements

You must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or have equivalent practical experience.

You must possess a minimum of five years of progressive experience in software development or delivery leadership roles.

You must have demonstrated success managing and mentoring a team of at least ten software professionals.

You must have hands-on experience with modern web and mobile development technologies and practices.

You must have a strong background in Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, and proven experience managing multiple concurrent iterations.

You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

You must be comfortable making data-driven decisions and balancing competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

You must be eligible for employment in Canada and hold the right to work in Mississauga, Ontario without sponsorship.

Nice to have

Experience in the building envelope, construction, or facilities management sectors.

Familiarity with tools and platforms commonly used in regulated or safety-critical environments.

Knowledge of financial or enterprise software systems and integration patterns.

Experience with DevOps pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and automated testing frameworks.

Practical notes

This role is based in our Mississauga office and requires consistent in-person presence during standard business hours.

No sponsorship is available for this position, and candidates must be authorized to work in Canada without employer support.

Travel is not required for this role, and all work is conducted from the office location.

The engagement is full-time, and the start date will be determined based on business needs and candidate availability.
