What you'll do

• Conduct thorough investigations into suspicious transactions and activities, utilizing data analysis and fraud detection tools to identify patterns and anomalies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including customer support and compliance, to gather information and insights that aid in fraud detection and prevention.
• Develop and maintain fraud risk assessment frameworks, ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest industry trends and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and analyze transaction data in real-time to identify potential fraud attempts and take appropriate action to mitigate risks.
• Prepare detailed reports on fraud incidents, including findings and recommendations for improving fraud prevention measures.
• Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for staff on fraud awareness and prevention techniques.
• Stay informed about emerging fraud trends and tactics, adapting strategies accordingly to protect the organization and its clients.
• Participate in the design and enhancement of fraud detection algorithms and tools, leveraging technology to improve detection rates.
• Engage with external stakeholders, including law enforcement and regulatory bodies, to report fraud cases and collaborate on investigations.
• Provide support in the development of policies and procedures related to fraud risk management, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of fraud risk management processes by identifying gaps and recommending solutions.
• Assist in the preparation of presentations for senior management, summarizing fraud risk assessments and mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in fraud risk management, financial crime investigation, or a related area.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify trends.
• Proficiency in using fraud detection software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings clearly and effectively.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to fraud prevention and financial transactions.

Nice to have

• Certification in fraud prevention or investigation, such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or similar.
• Experience in the fintech industry or with payment processing systems.
• Knowledge of machine learning techniques and their application in fraud detection.
