What you'll do
- Conduct thorough investigations into suspicious transactions and activities, utilizing data analysis and fraud detection tools to identify patterns and anomalies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including customer support and compliance, to gather information and insights that aid in fraud detection and prevention.
- Develop and maintain fraud risk assessment frameworks, ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest industry trends and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and analyze transaction data in real-time to identify potential fraud attempts and take appropriate action to mitigate risks.
- Prepare detailed reports on fraud incidents, including findings and recommendations for improving fraud prevention measures.
- Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for staff on fraud awareness and prevention techniques.
- Stay informed about emerging fraud trends and tactics, adapting strategies accordingly to protect the organization and its clients.
- Participate in the design and enhancement of fraud detection algorithms and tools, leveraging technology to improve detection rates.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including law enforcement and regulatory bodies, to report fraud cases and collaborate on investigations.
- Provide support in the development of policies and procedures related to fraud risk management, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of fraud risk management processes by identifying gaps and recommending solutions.
- Assist in the preparation of presentations for senior management, summarizing fraud risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in fraud risk management, financial crime investigation, or a related area.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify trends.
- Proficiency in using fraud detection software and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings clearly and effectively.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to fraud prevention and financial transactions.
Nice to have
- Certification in fraud prevention or investigation, such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or similar.
- Experience in the fintech industry or with payment processing systems.
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques and their application in fraud detection.
