About the role
This internship provides project based work with specific goals that can be added to your portfolio as you develop a holistic understanding of how video drives success in a fast-paced, performance-driven company. You will have a dedicated supervisor/mentor to guide and challenge you throughout the duration of the program, ensuring you learn the ins and outs of an OTT sports media company from the inside out. This role is structured to immerse you in the core workflows that power FloSports' fan engagement and community growth. The internship is available from August 24th through January 1st, requiring consistent presence during this period. You will be responsible for overseeing and assisting with the posting of engaging social media content while curating and creating shareable content appropriate for specific social networks.

What you'll do
Oversee and assist with the posting of engaging social media content across multiple platforms to maintain a consistent and high-quality presence. Curate and create shareable content appropriate for specific social networks, ensuring each piece aligns with brand voice and campaign objectives. Make use of best practices for social listening, tagging, reporting, UTM linking and custom audience development across all social channels to refine strategy and measure impact. Analyze performance data to identify trends and insights, feeding findings back into the content planning process for continuous improvement. Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to support the goals of the FloSports Content team and integrate feedback efficiently. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of assets and adherence to campaign schedules during the active season. Monitor community sentiment and engagement metrics using established tools to inform real-time adjustments in content approach. Maintain brand consistency while experimenting with new formats and ideas that resonate with niche sports audiences. Support the execution of special initiatives tied to live events, athlete stories, and community highlights throughout the coverage window. Act as an ambassador for FloSports values, embodying accountability, collaboration, curiosity, positivity, grit, and excellence in every interaction.
Requirements
Must have a demonstrated understanding of social media platforms, their unique audiences and how to use them to maximize engagement efforts. Strong project time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment. Candidates should have experience working with social media tooling and analytics platforms, such as Hootsuite or Sprout. Graphic design, photography and video production/editing skills a plus. Must be highly motivated to learn about the world of sports social media and contribute to elevating underserved sports communities. Must be available from August through December to ensure full participation in the internship term. This internship requires a minimum availability of 20-25 hours per week to meet team expectations and deliverables. You must be located in Austin, TX, as this is an in-person internship opportunity. This position is offered at a rate of $18 per hour for the duration of the engagement.
Nice to have
Experience in a fast-paced media or sports environment where rapid content turnaround is essential. Familiarity with content scheduling workflows and version control practices used in professional production settings. Comfort engaging with niche online communities and translating community insights into content experiments. An eye for visual storytelling that translates well across vertical and horizontal formats.
Practical notes
This internship is available from August 24th through January 1st. You must be available for a minimum of 20-25 hours per week. This is a paid internship offering $18 per hour. Travel is not required as the position is based in Austin, TX. This opportunity is open to candidates who can secure work authorization in the United States and comply with all employment eligibility requirements. No international visa sponsorship is available for this role.
