About the role
Flexport is seeking a Branch Manager to lead its Guadalajara operations and drive growth across the region. This role oversees the day-to-day functions of the branch and ensures that service delivery meets the company's high standards for reliability and responsiveness. The Branch Manager serves as the primary point of contact for clients, partners, and local stakeholders in the Guadalajara market. This position is responsible for building a strong local team, developing business strategies, and maintaining long-term relationships with customers who depend on Flexport for their logistics needs.

What you'll do
- Lead and motivate a dedicated team of logistics professionals across the Guadalajara branch office on a daily basis.
- Develop and execute local business strategies designed to grow the branch client base and increase revenue over time.
- Oversee daily branch operations including shipment coordination, documentation processing, customs clearance activities, and freight forwarding workflows.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key customers, regional carriers, and local service providers in Guadalajara.
- Ensure all branch activities fully comply with Mexican regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry best practices at all times.
- Monitor branch performance metrics regularly and report on operational efficiency, service quality, and financial results to senior leadership.
- Manage the branch budget proactively, forecast operating expenses accurately, and identify opportunities for meaningful cost optimization and savings.
- Coordinate closely with other Flexport branches and headquarters teams to align on shared goals, priorities, and strategic initiatives.
- Drive customer satisfaction consistently by resolving issues promptly, communicating transparently, and maintaining the highest possible service quality standards.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and develop branch staff members to build a high-performing, accountable, and collaborative team culture.
- Implement process improvements and operational efficiencies that increase throughput capacity and reduce turnaround times for all freight operations.
- Represent Flexport professionally at industry events, community gatherings, and in the local Guadalajara business community to build visibility.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing a branch or leading a team in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations is essential.
- Strong working knowledge of international freight forwarding, customs procedures, import and export regulations, and cross-border trade processes is required.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of motivating, developing, and retaining high-performing teams in demanding environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish are necessary for effective client interactions daily.
- Experience working in Mexico or a comparable Latin American market is highly valued and considered a strong advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail consistently.
- A Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is required for this role.
- Comfort with regular travel within Mexico and occasional trips to other Flexport offices or regional locations as needed.
- Familiarity with digital logistics platforms and technology-driven freight solutions is important for success in this modern operating environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure and tight deadlines.

- Prior experience working with Flexport or a similar digital freight platform and technology-driven logistics company is a significant plus.
- In-depth knowledge of Mexican import and export regulations, trade compliance frameworks, and customs brokerage procedures in the local market.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems, inventory tracking tools, and shipment visibility platforms commonly used in the logistics industry.
- An established professional network of carriers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and service providers in the Guadalajara metropolitan area.
- Experience managing client accounts or portfolios in the freight forwarding or third-party logistics sector is a valuable asset.
- Understanding of sustainability practices and environmentally responsible logistics solutions is increasingly important in the modern freight industry.
