What you'll do

• Prepare and negotiate a diverse array of commercial agreements, including software-as-a-service (SaaS) contracts and various partnership arrangements.
• Offer comprehensive legal counsel to internal teams regarding potential contract risks and the overall business strategy.
• Work closely with sales and finance departments to ensure that all agreements are consistent with company policies and objectives.
• Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, from the initial drafting phase to final execution and implementation.
• Assist the legal team in enhancing standard contract templates and refining internal processes for efficiency.
• Conduct thorough reviews of contracts to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with commercial transactions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations in all agreements.
• Provide training and support to internal stakeholders on legal best practices related to contract management and negotiation.
• Stay updated on industry trends and legal developments that may impact the company's commercial agreements.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with external legal counsel and other advisors as needed.
• Participate in strategic planning sessions to align legal strategies with business goals.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the legal department's operations and service delivery.

Requirements

• A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a recognized law school is essential.
• Must hold an active membership in the California State Bar or be eligible for Registered In-House Counsel status.
• A minimum of three years of experience in managing commercial transactions, particularly within the technology or software sectors.
• Proven ability to convey complex legal concepts in a clear and understandable manner to non-legal colleagues.
• Exceptional attention to detail, especially regarding contract language and risk assessment.
• Strong negotiation skills with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes for the company.

• Experience in the data analytics or cloud computing industries.
• Familiarity with international commercial law and cross-border transactions.
