This position supports media relations strategies for health, wellness, fitness, and performance brands. You will collaborate with agency leadership and client teams, contributing to media outreach, content creation, and daily account management. This role is with AIIR, a communications agency specializing in brand storytelling and growth. You will serve as a critical liaison between the agency, the client, and external media contacts, ensuring all communications reflect the highest level of professionalism and brand integrity. The successful candidate will immerse themselves in the fast-paced world of health and wellness communications, managing multiple priorities with calm and precision. You will be expected to anticipate needs, solve problems proactively, and contribute creative ideas that strengthen the client's public presence. What you'll do
- Help create and implement media relations plans and campaigns that align with client objectives.
- Write and distribute press materials like pitches, releases, and media alerts with clarity and impact.
- Reach out to media to secure placements in various outlets including print, digital, and broadcast channels.
- Identify and secure new media opportunities with content creators, influencers, podcasts, and YouTube channels.
- Plan and support client events, including hosting media and VIPs to ensure seamless execution.
- Track media coverage and prepare reports and summaries for clients to measure campaign effectiveness.
- Keep media lists and databases current to maintain accurate and relevant contact information.
- Provide research, administrative help, and meeting preparation for client teams to facilitate productive discussions.
- Monitor industry trends and news to identify timely angles and relevant media outlets for pitching.
- Assist in the coordination of content distribution to maximize reach and engagement across platforms.
- Maintain project timelines and ensure deliverables are met within agreed-upon schedules.
- Collaborate closely with senior account managers to refine strategies and improve team workflows.
- Support the onboarding of new clients by gathering necessary background and media information.
- Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures for media relations tasks.
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or corporate communications (agency, in-house, or both).
- Comfortable interacting directly with clients and media to represent the agency and client interests.
- Possesses strong proactive and reactive media relations judgment to handle evolving situations effectively.
- Excellent writing, communication, and organizational abilities to manage complex tasks and deadlines.
- A strong interest in storytelling and building relationships with media professionals to foster long-term partnerships.
- Capable of overseeing reporting with assistance from entry-level staff to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Deeply familiar with the health, wellness, fitness, and performance sectors to understand client nuances.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a hybrid environment.
- Willingness to adhere to strict brand guidelines and communication protocols to maintain consistency.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure all materials are error-free and aligned with client expectations.
