What you'll do

Coordinate remote digital deposition sessions using video conferencing technology to connect signers, attorneys, and court reporters in real time.

Verify the identity and competency of each signing participant through rigorous examination of government-issued identification and remote confirmation methods.

Administer oaths and affirmations in accordance with Virginia notary law, ensuring that all declarations are made knowingly and willingly.

Monitor the digital recording of the proceeding to guarantee that the transcript accurately reflects every spoken word and gesture.

Utilize Filevine's platform and proprietary tools to manage session logistics, documentation, and secure data transmission throughout the engagement.

Troubleshoot basic technical issues for participants, guiding them through audio, video, and document access without influencing the content of the testimony.

Maintain a strict neutral stance regarding the substance of the testimony, focusing solely on the proper execution of notarial acts and procedural order.

Document the session details and notarial certificate execution with precision, creating a clear and auditable record for all parties involved.

Requirements

You must be a commissioned notary public in the state of Virginia with an active and current commission that is valid for the duration of the engagement.

You must possess a thorough understanding of Virginia notary public laws, rules, and ethical guidelines, applying them correctly in every remote session.

You must be able to verify the identity of signers using acceptable forms of identification as defined by Virginia law and industry best practices.

You must be at least eighteen years of age and possess the legal capacity to execute notarial acts within the Commonwealth of Virginia.

You must be physically located within the state of Virginia for the entire duration of the session, ensuring compliance with jurisdiction requirements.

You must have access to a reliable high-speed internet connection, a computer with a webcam, and a microphone to facilitate high-quality video sessions.
