About the role

Fastly is on the lookout for a Senior Logistics & Procurement Analyst to enhance its global supply chain operations. This pivotal position is centered around optimizing inventory management, nurturing vendor relationships, and ensuring the seamless delivery of network infrastructure components. As a key player in maintaining Fastly's edge cloud platform, you will be responsible for securing essential hardware and services that support our innovative technology solutions.

What you'll do

Manage the complete procurement process, from sourcing initial materials to ensuring final delivery of products.
Maintain optimal inventory levels and develop forecasts to mitigate shortages while minimizing excess stock.
Negotiate supplier contracts and terms to secure advantageous agreements that benefit the company.
Coordinate logistics for the shipping and receiving of equipment across various global locations, ensuring timely delivery.
Analyze supply chain data to pinpoint areas for enhancement and potential cost reductions.
Ensure adherence to international trade laws and customs regulations to facilitate smooth operations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and finance, to address supply chain requirements effectively.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to shipments, vendor performance, and product quality to maintain operational efficiency.
Develop and implement strategies to streamline procurement processes and improve overall supply chain performance.
Monitor market trends and industry developments to inform procurement strategies and decisions.
Prepare and present reports on procurement activities and supply chain performance metrics to senior management.
Foster strong relationships with suppliers to enhance collaboration and ensure alignment with company goals.

Requirements

Proven experience in global logistics and procurement, particularly within the technology or network infrastructure sectors.
Demonstrated capability in managing complex supply chains and navigating international shipping challenges.
Strong negotiation skills with a successful history of managing vendor relationships effectively.
Proficiency in utilizing supply chain management software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
An analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic decisions based on findings.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams and external partners.
Familiarity with import/export regulations and customs compliance to ensure lawful operations.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment.
A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field is preferred.

Nice to have

Experience working in a fast-growing tech company or startup environment.
Knowledge of sustainability practices within the supply chain and procurement processes.
Familiarity with advanced analytics tools and techniques for supply chain optimization.
Certification in supply chain management or procurement (e.g., APICS, CIPS) is a plus.
