About the role
The Project Manager - Reporting and Visualization will be responsible for helping the Digital Analytics and Insights group gather requirements, source data, and deliver reports and compelling visualizations to key stakeholders across the global Discovery organization. You will work with various functional groups to gather requirements, design relevant reports and dashboards and continually improve Business Intelligence. You will lead discussions throughout all phases of the Business Intelligence design lifecycle and ensure objectives and scope are clearly defined and understood by stakeholders and Analytics team. You will plan, manage and keep control over key project milestones, metrics and effectiveness while managing internal communications in both verbal team meetings and written status reports. You will collaborate with other BI leads throughout the organization to coordinate tools and methods and ensure appropriate access and training is supplied to relevant end users. You will run project post mortem analysis to capture improvement ideas for future projects and help refine processes.

What you'll do
Coordinate and lead requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders to define reporting needs and visualization objectives for the Discovery organization.
Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and milestone tracking mechanisms to ensure on-time delivery of BI assets and dashboards.
Design and iterate on reports and dashboards, applying design principles and aesthetics to ensure intuitive and effective business intelligence outputs.
Manage project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring clear understanding and alignment among Analytics teams and stakeholders.
Collaborate with other BI leads across the organization to standardize tools, methods, and best practices for reporting and visualization initiatives.
Implement data models and database designs, utilizing SQL server and DataStage development to support robust data pipelines.
Oversee the implementation and configuration of BI visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI, focusing on deployment and user adoption.
Evaluate and integrate big data technologies and platforms where highly desired to support scalable reporting and visualization solutions.
Conduct project post mortem analyses to identify improvement opportunities and capture lessons learned for future BI projects.
Ensure appropriate access, training, and support are provided to end users to maximize the effectiveness of reporting and visualization tools.
Partner with functional groups to integrate personalization, revenue management, and marketing data into cohesive reporting frameworks.
Leverage experience in media and commercial business processes to enhance data storytelling and relevance for specific industry contexts.
Maintain strong communication channels, providing both verbal updates in meetings and written documentation such as status reports.
Drive continuous improvement by analyzing existing BI practices and recommending enhancements to visualization strategies and data governance.
Support the creation of compelling visual narratives that help stakeholders make data-driven decisions across global Discovery teams.
Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management or similar discipline.
2+ years of experience in BI analytics project management and leading teams in a virtual, global, or structured organization.
Must be able to define, shape, and drive projects to completion while effectively collaborating with others.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to solve complex problems and present recommendations to senior management effectively.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, work ethic, and the ability to work well individually as well as leading cross functional project teams.
Understanding of design principles and aesthetics of business dashboards and reports including look and feel.
Basic data modelling and database design understanding including experience in SQL server and DataStage development.
Experience with BI visualization tools and their implementation, ideally Tableau or PowerBI.
Understanding and experience with big data technologies and platforms is highly desired.
Prior experience in design, development, and deployment of BI applications.
Functional experience across a range of commercial business processes with an emphasis on personalization & revenue management and marketing data integration is a plus.
Experience in Media is a plus.
