What you'll do
- Formulate and oversee the product strategy for AI and clinical intelligence projects, ensuring they align with the broader company goals and enhance patient outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with AI and machine learning engineers to articulate, construct, and launch new features, effectively translating clinical requirements into technical specifications and vice versa.
- Partner with clinical specialists to ensure that AI tools adhere to best practices in the treatment of eating disorders while minimizing clinical risks.
- Develop and implement responsible AI practices, including model evaluation, safety measures, and bias monitoring.
- Create assessment frameworks to evaluate the performance of AI models, their clinical impact, and user trust, going beyond basic usage statistics.
- Lead the product development process for AI initiatives from initial ideation through to launch and subsequent enhancements.
- Integrate healthcare regulations and compliance standards, such as HIPAA, into product and model specifications.
- Conduct user research with both patients and healthcare providers to uncover opportunities for AI to enhance care delivery or alleviate workload.
- Present product plans, associated risks, and outcomes related to AI initiatives to executive and clinical leadership teams.
- Provide mentorship to product managers engaged in AI and clinical intelligence projects, fostering their professional growth.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in product management, with a significant focus on AI and machine learning in regulated or sensitive healthcare settings.
- Strong grasp of AI and machine learning principles, including model evaluation and safety protocols, to facilitate effective collaboration with engineering teams.
- Proven track record in developing products tailored for clinical workflows and healthcare operations.
- In-depth understanding of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and standards for clinical decision support.
- Capability to establish clear guidelines for the application of AI in clinical environments, even amidst uncertainty.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively across clinical, technical, and executive domains.
- A data-informed approach to assessing product success, clinical outcomes, and safety measures.
Nice to have
- Previous experience in mental health or the treatment of eating disorders.
- Direct involvement with clinical decision support systems, care coordination tools, or AI applications for clinical documentation.
- Familiarity with AI governance frameworks specific to healthcare.
- Experience in collaborating with or managing applied AI and machine learning engineering teams.
- Understanding of value-based care models and metrics for healthcare quality.
