What you'll do

• Assist tradespeople in various tasks, including preparation and clean-up of work areas to ensure a safe and organized environment.
• Operate hand tools and power tools under the supervision of experienced tradespeople, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Prepare materials and equipment for upcoming tasks, ensuring that everything is readily available for efficient workflow.
• Support the installation and maintenance of various systems, including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical, as directed by senior staff.
• Participate in the assembly and disassembly of scaffolding and other temporary structures, following safety guidelines.
• Conduct routine inspections of tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition, reporting any issues to supervisors.
• Assist in the transportation of materials to and from job sites, ensuring that all items are handled safely and securely.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment, including the proper disposal of waste materials and cleaning of tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently, contributing to a positive and productive work atmosphere.
• Attend safety meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and compliance requirements.
• Document daily activities and report progress to supervisors, ensuring clear communication regarding project status.
• Be willing to learn and adapt to new tasks as required, demonstrating a proactive approach to personal and professional development.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a trade assistance role or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong commitment to safety and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Good physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects.
• Basic understanding of tools and equipment commonly used in construction and maintenance.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate effective teamwork.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed.
• A valid driver's license is essential for transportation to and from job sites.
• A positive attitude and a strong work ethic, demonstrating reliability and responsibility.
