What you'll do
- Collaborate with project managers to develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring alignment with client objectives and company standards.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential challenges and develop mitigation strategies.
- Oversee the design and engineering processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Monitor project progress, conducting regular site visits to assess work quality and adherence to safety protocols.
- Prepare and present project reports to stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and solutions.
- Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Facilitate effective communication among team members, clients, and external partners to foster collaboration and resolve issues promptly.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure project deliverables meet specifications and client expectations.
- Assist in the preparation of tenders and proposals, contributing technical expertise to enhance competitiveness.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement in project execution.
- Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development through knowledge sharing and guidance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, with a focus on civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in project engineering or a similar role within the construction or engineering sector.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Proficient in using engineering software and project management tools, such as AutoCAD, MS Project, or similar applications.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and quality standards in the engineering industry.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Nice to have
- Professional certification, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Chartered Engineer status, is a plus.
- Experience with sustainable engineering practices and green building certifications.
