What you'll do

• Assist skilled tradespeople in various tasks, including painting, cleaning, and preparing surfaces for work.
• Operate hand tools and power tools under the supervision of experienced tradespeople, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
• Prepare and mix paints, stains, and other materials as required for specific projects.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment by regularly disposing of waste and cleaning tools and equipment.
• Help in the setup and dismantling of work areas, ensuring that all materials and tools are readily available for use.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and contribute to team discussions regarding project progress and challenges.
• Participate in safety meetings and adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
• Assist in the transportation of materials and equipment to and from job sites, ensuring they are handled safely and efficiently.
• Support the team in completing tasks within deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Engage in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in the trade.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure clarity in tasks and responsibilities.
• Report any issues or concerns regarding tools, equipment, or safety to the supervisor promptly.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a similar role or in a construction-related field is preferred but not mandatory.
• A strong willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with others.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools is an advantage.
• A commitment to safety and the ability to follow safety protocols diligently.
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labor, including lifting and carrying heavy materials.
• A valid driver's license is preferred to facilitate transportation to various job sites.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and overtime as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Nice to have

• Experience in painting, carpentry, or other trade skills is a plus.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and practices in the construction industry.
• First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Previous experience working in a casual or temporary role within a trade environment.
