What you'll do
- Lead and oversee multiple environmental projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet client expectations and regulatory requirements.
- Develop project scopes, objectives, and detailed work plans, while effectively managing resources and timelines.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, scientists, and regulatory specialists, to deliver comprehensive environmental solutions.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential environmental impacts associated with project activities.
- Prepare and review technical reports, environmental assessments, and permit applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Engage with stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, and community members, to communicate project progress and address concerns.
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring financial accountability and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in environmental management and sustainability.
- Mentor and guide junior staff, fostering their professional development and enhancing team capabilities.
- Implement and promote best practices in health, safety, and environmental management across all projects.
- Facilitate project meetings, providing updates and ensuring alignment among team members and stakeholders.
- Contribute to business development efforts by identifying new opportunities and assisting in proposal preparation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance requirements at the local, state, and federal levels.
- Excellent project management skills, including planning, organization, and resource allocation.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required for project site visits.
Nice to have
- Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Environmental Professional (CEP).
