What you'll do

• Lead and oversee multiple environmental projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet client expectations and regulatory requirements.
• Develop project scopes, objectives, and detailed work plans, while effectively managing resources and timelines.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, scientists, and regulatory specialists, to deliver comprehensive environmental solutions.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential environmental impacts associated with project activities.
• Prepare and review technical reports, environmental assessments, and permit applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Engage with stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, and community members, to communicate project progress and address concerns.
• Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring financial accountability and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
• Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in environmental management and sustainability.
• Mentor and guide junior staff, fostering their professional development and enhancing team capabilities.
• Implement and promote best practices in health, safety, and environmental management across all projects.
• Facilitate project meetings, providing updates and ensuring alignment among team members and stakeholders.
• Contribute to business development efforts by identifying new opportunities and assisting in proposal preparation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance requirements at the local, state, and federal levels.
• Excellent project management skills, including planning, organization, and resource allocation.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required for project site visits.

Nice to have

• Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Environmental Professional (CEP).
• Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and environmental modeling software.
• Familiarity with sustainability practices and green building certifications (e.g., LEED).
• Previous experience in stakeholder engagement and public outreach initiatives.
• Knowledge of emerging environmental technologies and innovative solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders. Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools is essential, along with a solid understanding of environmental science principles. Familiarity with data analysis software and environmental assessment tools will be advantageous.
