Website Operations Intern
Job description
About the role
This internship places you at the center of digital execution for Emma's operations in Lisbon. You will own the daily rhythm of the website, managing every step from initial request to final delivery with partners. The role provides clear duties while encouraging you to suggest process changes that improve how teams function. You will follow established routines but also act independently to resolve issues, ensuring the shopping experience remains stable for customers across different markets. Your work will directly support the reliability and consistency of the online store. You will translate ambiguous requests into structured tasks, guiding projects from initial concept through to successful implementation without constant supervision. The position requires a proactive mindset that identifies potential risks before they impact the customer journey, allowing for timely intervention. You will serve as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring that everyone shares a common understanding of project goals and timelines.
Key facts
What you'll do
You will design intake practices that collect request information, route tickets correctly, and set clear timelines before work begins. Creating and modifying content sections, template blocks, and page elements will be part of your routine, ensuring updates meet brand and quality standards. You will review layouts, links, and text, then coordinate with specialists to resolve issues until requirements are satisfied. You will deploy updates on schedule, applying version control habits and writing release notes so each change is tracked and reversible. Collaboration with marketing, product, and engineering teams will keep website projects aligned with broader business objectives. You will coordinate content reviews, verify regional conditions, and ensure compliance with local commerce regulations. Maintaining operational dashboards, logging recurring problems, and identifying trends that indicate larger improvements will be regular tasks. You will guide colleagues through standard procedures, answer questions about workflows, and document steps so knowledge moves easily across the team. Monitoring site performance indicators, spotting anomalies, and working with others to protect the customer journey will be part of your duty. You will support testing efforts, verify content accuracy, and confirm that updates reach every market where Emma operates. Analyzing data patterns will help you propose adjustments that enhance the efficiency of website operations over time. You will assist in maintaining documentation that reflects current processes and supports long-term team development. Taking ownership of small projects from start to finish will build your ability to manage complex tasks independently. You will participate in periodic reviews of website functionality, providing feedback based on user experience and operational realities. Communicating progress clearly and proactively will ensure that stakeholders remain informed about key milestones and potential roadblocks.
Requirements
You must be at least eighteen years old and have permission to work in the country for the duration of the internship. Your availability should be three to five days per week for a period of two to six months beginning in 2026. Strong written English skills are necessary so you can express ideas clearly for both internal and external readers. You should understand basic website concepts, including content management, page structure, and how browsers render pages. Familiarity with tools such as Slack, email, and spreadsheets is required for communication and information sharing. You must pay close attention to detail, follow instructions, and complete tasks fully before moving to the next item. You should enjoy working within processes, following guidelines, and asking questions when instructions are not clear. Comfort using computers, learning new systems, and adapting to shifting priorities is essential. You must be able to manage multiple requests at once without losing track of deadlines or quality expectations. A disciplined approach to organizing your work and time will be necessary to succeed in this environment. Willingness to follow structured procedures while contributing constructive feedback is highly valued. You should be comfortable working remotely and managing your responsibilities with minimal direct supervision. Professional communication and a respectful attitude toward teammates are required at all times.
