What you'll do

• Develop and rigorously test code utilizing agile methodologies, ensuring comprehensive documentation throughout the process.
• Perform code reviews and offer architectural insights to fellow team members, fostering a culture of quality and collaboration.
• Oversee the entire code lifecycle, from initial development stages to deployment in production environments.
• Create and maintain internal tools aimed at boosting team efficiency and streamlining workflows.
• Work closely with various departments, including Product, Finance, Risk, and Business Development, to align technical solutions with business needs.
• Lead strategic initiatives to enhance our global payments platform, ensuring it meets evolving market demands.
• Uphold a system that guarantees 99.9% uptime and supports over 100 transactions per second (TPS) using technologies such as PHP, JAVA, and MySQL.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
• Mentor junior engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices to elevate the team's overall skill set.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our systems and processes.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to drive projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with company goals.
• Contribute to the development of documentation and training materials for new systems and processes.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and deploying software solutions in production environments.
• Strong understanding of data structures, concurrency, persistence, and distributed systems, enabling effective problem-solving.
• Proficiency in version control systems, particularly git or similar tools, to manage code effectively.
• Ability to break down complex problems into manageable components and create effective solutions.
• Quick adaptability to new technologies, programming languages, and engineering methodologies.
• Excellent analytical skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality software and maintaining system integrity.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AWS cloud services, including deployment and monitoring practices.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases to manage data effectively.
• Knowledge of functional or logic programming languages, enhancing versatility in coding practices.
• Experience with data replication, reconciliation, and asynchronous systems to improve data handling.
• Understanding of computer networking principles, including latency management and routing.
• Background in Test Driven Development (TDD) and ensuring extensive test coverage for software.
• Experience in developing mission-critical, real-time, or fault-tolerant systems.
• Proficient English communication skills for effective interaction with global clients and teams.
