About the role

Digitain Software is seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team in Yerevan, Armenia. This pivotal role will involve providing comprehensive legal support across various aspects of our business operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in corporate law, with a focus on compliance, contract negotiation, and risk management. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our legal practices align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

What you'll do

Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of issues, including corporate governance, intellectual property, and data protection, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts and agreements, including service agreements, partnership contracts, and vendor agreements, to mitigate risks and protect the company's interests.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote legal compliance and ethical business practices.
Conduct legal research to stay updated on relevant laws and regulations that may impact the company's operations, advising management on potential implications.
Manage disputes and litigation matters, working with external counsel when necessary, to ensure effective resolution of legal issues.
Provide training and guidance to employees on legal matters, fostering a culture of compliance within the organization.
Assist in the development of corporate strategies by providing legal insights and recommendations that align with business objectives.
Monitor changes in legislation and industry trends, advising the company on necessary adjustments to policies and practices.
Support mergers and acquisitions by conducting due diligence and assessing legal risks associated with potential transactions.
Participate in negotiations with third parties, ensuring that the company's legal rights are protected throughout the process.
Prepare and maintain legal documentation, ensuring that all records are accurate and up to date.
Act as a point of contact for regulatory bodies, ensuring that the company meets all reporting and compliance obligations.

Requirements

Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal degree from a recognized institution.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a corporate legal environment, preferably within the technology or software industry.
Strong understanding of corporate law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
Proven experience in drafting and negotiating complex contracts and agreements.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and provide sound legal advice.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Fluency in English; proficiency in Armenian or Russian is a plus.

Nice to have

Experience in the gaming or betting industry, particularly in relation to regulatory compliance.
Familiarity with data protection laws, including GDPR and local data privacy regulations.
Previous experience in a multinational corporation or law firm.
Membership in a relevant bar association or legal professional organization.

Skills & tools

Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.
Familiarity with contract management software and compliance tracking systems.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Word and Excel for document preparation and analysis.
Knowledge of project management tools to assist in tracking legal projects and deadlines.

This position is based in Yerevan, Armenia, and may require occasional travel for meetings or conferences.
