What you'll do

Lead the design and implementation of React Native based mobile features across the entire product suite and platform ecosystem.

Architect scalable and maintainable mobile application structures using modern React Native patterns and established software engineering principles.

Mentor and coach a team of mobile developers, fostering growth, technical excellence, and a culture of continuous learning.

Conduct thorough code reviews to enforce coding standards, best practices, and consistent quality across all team contributions.

Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and actionable plans.

Evaluate and adopt new tools, libraries, and frameworks that improve team productivity and overall application performance.

Own the technical roadmap for the mobile platform and communicate progress, risks, and trade offs to stakeholders.

Troubleshoot complex performance issues by debugging native and JavaScript layer interactions across iOS and Android devices.

Establish comprehensive testing strategies and automation pipelines for mobile application quality assurance and regression prevention.

Drive continuous integration and deployment practices for reliable and frequent mobile release cycles across all environments.

Define coding standards and documentation practices that ensure long term maintainability and knowledge sharing within the team.

Partner with backend engineers to design efficient API contracts and data flows for mobile client consumption.

Requirements

Proven experience leading mobile engineering teams with React Native as a primary technology for building production applications.

Strong command of JavaScript or TypeScript and modern ES language features including async patterns and module systems.

Deep understanding of React Native internals, including the bridge, native modules, the threading model, and performance optimization.

Experience with state management solutions such as Redux, MobX, or Context API in complex application architectures.

Familiarity with native iOS and Android development concepts to effectively bridge JavaScript and platform specific code.

Track record of delivering production quality mobile applications on time and within scope in a professional setting.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical decisions and trade offs to diverse audiences.

Ability to prioritize competing demands and drive projects to completion while maintaining high standards of code quality.

Experience managing technical debt and refactoring legacy codebases to improve maintainability and developer velocity over time.

Comfortable working in an agile environment with iterative development cycles and regular stakeholder feedback loops.

Experience with TypeScript in a production React Native mobile application environment at scale.

Familiarity with CI/CD tooling such as Fastlane, Bitrise, or GitHub Actions for automated mobile build and release workflows.

Knowledge of performance profiling tools like Flipper, React Native Debugger, or Xcode Instruments for diagnosing issues.

Background in gaming or fintech industries, closely aligning with Bamboohr's core business domain and product focus.

Exposure to GraphQL or REST API design patterns for building efficient mobile data fetching and caching layers.

Practical notes

This is a full time position with standard business hours unless otherwise arranged with the engineering team.

The role may involve collaboration across time zones depending on the geographic distribution of the broader team.

Candidates should be prepared to participate in on call rotation for production incident support and rapid response.
