Key facts
What you'll do
- Develop, implement, and maintain data protection policies and procedures in line with local and international regulations, including GDPR and other relevant frameworks.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with data protection laws and internal policies, identifying areas for improvement.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for data protection inquiries, both internally and externally, addressing concerns and providing guidance on data handling practices.
- Collaborate with various departments, including IT, legal, and HR, to ensure that data protection measures are integrated into all business processes.
- Provide training and awareness programs for employees on data protection principles and best practices to foster a culture of compliance within the organization.
- Monitor and report on data breaches or incidents, coordinating with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely response and mitigation strategies are in place.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of data protection legislation and best practices, advising the organization on necessary changes to policies and procedures.
- Assist in the development of data processing agreements with third-party vendors, ensuring that they comply with data protection standards.
- Analyze and respond to data subject requests, ensuring that individuals' rights are upheld in accordance with applicable laws.
- Prepare and present reports to senior management and the board on data protection compliance, risks, and initiatives.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory authorities, managing communications and ensuring compliance with any investigations or audits.
- Participate in the development of data retention and deletion policies, ensuring that data is managed responsibly throughout its lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in law, information technology, or a related field; a master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM) is a plus.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in data protection, privacy compliance, or a related role, preferably within a technology or software development environment.
- Strong understanding of data protection regulations, including GDPR, and their application in a business context.
- Proven experience in conducting data protection impact assessments and audits.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders effectively.
- Strong analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to identify compliance risks.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with data management technologies and practices, including data encryption, access controls, and data loss prevention strategies.
Nice to have
- Experience in the gaming or software industry, particularly in a data-intensive environment.
- Knowledge of emerging trends in data protection and privacy, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning implications.
- Proficiency in a second language, particularly Russian or English, to facilitate communication with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with incident response and crisis management related to data breaches.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data management tools.
