About the role
You will own the full profit and loss responsibility for the door division in the Columbus market, driving daily execution against strategic objectives. You will lead a well-established and growing door business that provides customers with new and replacement doors and/or fixes and repairs existing doors throughout buildings. You will leverage hands-on management experience to assess current operations and recommend approved procedural or process changes when necessary. You will foster team building strategies, increase sales and profitability, and ensure a high level of customer service is maintained across all activities. You will oversee existing customer projects and ensure the operation realizes an increase in revenues for New Construction, Aftermarket, and Service work for all lines of business for DH Pace Company, Inc. and Capital Door Solutions, a DH Pace Company, Inc.

What you'll do
- Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions with full P&L responsibility.
- Make appropriate recommendations for operational and sales procedural or process improvement changes and implement them to increase customer satisfaction while delivering healthy profit margins and return on sales that meet or exceed the annual financial budget or forecast.
- Leverage operations and process improvement expertise in a consultative manner with personnel to build confidence and trust in leadership, making you the go-to resource for operational assistance, advice, guidance, and career mentoring.
- Assist with employee and job scheduling and support technical or mechanical troubleshooting and problem resolution as needed.
- Perform regular audits to ensure staff perform required daily tasks in their respective areas using the company's best practices, policies, and procedures.
- Use division financial reports on daily, weekly, and monthly bases for review and utilization in the management of daily operations.
- Hire, train, and develop new employees while improving individual performance through daily coaching, monthly P&L and scorecard reviews, and yearly performance reviews.
- Effectively lead meetings, set clear performance expectations, and hold employees accountable for agreed outcomes.
- Maintain professional communication in all circumstances with personnel and customers and resolve personnel matters and escalated customer concerns in a timely manner.
- Support the growth of the door business by identifying opportunities in New Construction, Aftermarket, and Service segments and translating them into actionable plans.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments and external partners to align strategies, streamline workflows, and remove operational barriers.
- Champion safety standards and ensure compliance with all company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices across all assigned locations.
Requirements
- Minimum five years' experience managing personnel, projects, sales, and customer service expectations, as well as operational revenues, expenses, and reporting in a leadership position.
- Commercial door industry management applicants with strong operational experience and product knowledge are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Will also consider service provider industry experience such as HAVAC or another construction or building materials business with products sold to end users, installed, and/or serviced at customer sites.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Must be willing and available during the first six months of employment to train in St. Louis, MO, Bloomington, IL, Kansas City, and/or another satellite market of Kansas City, for up to three times; one week per trip.

- Demonstrated success in using data and financial reports to drive decisions and improve operational performance.
- Experience with team development, coaching, and performance management in a multi-site or regional environment.
- Familiarity with building systems, door hardware, and related technical product knowledge.
- Experience supporting Aftermarket and Service revenue growth in a field-based or customer-facing role.
- Track record of implementing process improvements that enhance customer satisfaction and profitability.
Practical notes
- This role requires travel to various locations within the assigned territory as needed to support customers and operational requirements.
- Willingness to undergo training in multiple markets during the initial six-month period is essential for success in this position.
