Senior Programmatic Manager
Job description
About the role
At DEPT®®, the Senior Programmatic Manager is responsible for the end-to-end ownership of programmatic retail campaigns. This role guides partners from initial strategy through execution and optimization. It requires a self-driven professional who translates complex data into clear, actionable plans for client success. The position is fully remote, and candidates must be based in the Mountain or Pacific time zones to ensure synchronous collaboration.
What you'll do
- Translate client goals into structured programmatic campaign blueprints during intake and media planning.
- Architect audience segments and budget allocations across Amazon DSP and other major platforms.
- Conduct deep performance analysis to isolate underperforming elements and guide data-backed optimization.
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to guarantee on-time campaign launches and resolve operational blockers in real time.
- Develop comprehensive partner playbooks that connect media tactics to measurable business outcomes.
- Lead testing initiatives that challenge assumptions and refine audience targeting strategies to maximize return on investment.
- Validate tracking configurations, pixels, and dashboard accuracy to maintain data integrity.
- Mentor junior Account Managers and Coordinators through hands-on coaching to advance their skills and support long-term professional growth.
- Act as the primary technical resource for programmatic execution, troubleshooting, and process documentation.
- Collaborate with sales and account management to identify growth opportunities within retail marketplaces.
- Present insights and recommendations to stakeholders to influence strategic decision-making.
Requirements
You must bring a minimum of 4 years of programmatic media experience, including hands-on work with CTV, Display, and Video formats, with exposure to Native, Audio, or OOH formats being essential. Hands-on trading experience within retail marketplaces such as Walmart, Target, or Best Buy is required to understand marketplace-specific nuances. Proficiency in multiple Demand-Side Platforms is essential, with a strong focus on Amazon, TTD, and DV360. Familiarity with Ad Server tools is necessary to ensure proper tag implementation and trafficking. You must have at least 3 years of experience in paid marketing or ecommerce environments to contextualize media within broader business goals. Demonstrated comfort with Amazon Vendor or Seller Central dashboards is required for seamless integration and optimization. You should have a proven track record of guiding junior team members and actively contributing to their professional development. Sharp analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities are required to navigate complex challenges. The ability to operate effectively within a remote environment and align with Mountain or Pacific time zones is mandatory for team synchronization.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced deck-building and storytelling abilities that build client trust and convey strategic clarity are highly valued in this role. Fluency with Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Facebook Ads Manager, or similar ad-tech platforms, is a strong asset for cross-channel integration. Experience using data visualization tools like Data Studio or Tableau to communicate insights clearly is beneficial for stakeholder reporting. Participation in client pitches, audits, or strategic presentations that influence campaign direction demonstrates leadership and initiative. A portfolio showcasing successful programmatic campaigns in retail contexts is encouraged to validate practical expertise.
