About the role
This position is a 12 month fixed term employee contract in the first instance, with possibility of extension. This posting reflects an existing vacancy. The role is part of our eBay Inhouse team, where you will be employed by DEPT®® but embedded within eBay. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Marketing and Communications Manager to lead strategic communications initiatives supporting major business priorities and regulatory launches for eBay's Global Regulatory team. This role is ideal for a seasoned communications professional who thrives in a fast-paced corporate environment, enjoys collaborating with senior leaders, and can connect multiple communications channels into cohesive, high-impact campaigns. What you'll do
Develop and execute integrated communications strategies to support business objectives and regulatory initiatives.
Serve as a trusted communications advisor to senior executives and internal stakeholders, translating complex priorities into clear narratives.
Manage communications timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional coordination to ensure seamless execution across teams.
Create polished executive presentations and strategic storytelling materials in Google Slides that drive decision making and alignment.
Lead the development of communications materials including fact sheets, executive messaging, direct mail campaigns, internal and external content, social media content, and launch communications.
Develop Google decks that clearly articulate value propositions, regulatory impacts, and strategic recommendations for diverse audiences.
Understand and apply data analytics to measure communications performance and refine future campaigns for greater impact.
Partner with and direct external agencies on creative development, video production, and campaign execution to maintain brand excellence.
Provide communications guidance and strategic counsel across multiple teams and initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Ensure messaging consistency across all communications channels, reinforcing the eBay and DEPT®® brand promise in every interaction.
Manage staff of 2 people, providing direction, feedback, and growth opportunities in a collaborative environment.
Oversee content management and support campaign execution from planning through delivery, maintaining rigorous standards for quality and accuracy.
Maintain a high standard of professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail in every piece of content and communication output.
Requirements
10+ years of experience in corporate communications, public affairs, strategic communications, or related fields, demonstrating a proven track record of success.
Experience working within the technology sector or fast-paced corporate environments, navigating ambiguity and driving results under pressure.
Proven ability to work effectively with senior executives and leadership teams, representing communications excellence and strategic insight.
Strong people management and team leadership experience, including mentoring, feedback, and performance development for direct reports.
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills that convey complex ideas simply and persuasively across audiences.
Advanced presentation development skills, particularly in Google Slides, with a keen eye for design, structure, and narrative flow.
Experience managing integrated communications campaigns across multiple channels, coordinating messaging and touchpoints for coherence.
Background directing agencies and managing video/content production projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
Strong understanding of social media strategy and communications best practices, leveraging platforms to amplify reach and engagement.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, building trust and rapport with stakeholders at all levels.
Exceptional organizational and project management abilities, balancing multiple workstreams with precision and reliability.
Highly proactive, polished, and detail-oriented, approaching every task with ownership and a commitment to excellence.
Comfortable building relationships and engaging stakeholders over Zoom and in person, fostering collaboration and mutual respect.

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $105,000 - $130,000 CAD. Salary is based on relevant experience, expertise, and organizational impact.
