About the role
This role centers on owning the end to end strategy and execution for the payment infrastructure and checkout experience that powers the talabat platform inside the Delivery Hero network. You will architect the roadmap for payment processing, routing intelligence, and global integrations while carefully balancing risk, compliance, and conversion outcomes. The position requires you to translate complex financial and regulatory constraints into intuitive and trustworthy digital experiences for consumers and merchants. You will act as the primary product steward for the payments stack, ensuring that every iteration aligns with both business objectives and regulatory realities. This role sits at the intersection of technology, policy, and user behavior, demanding a balance of analytical rigor and commercial pragmatism. You will define the future state of how money moves within the local delivery ecosystem across multiple markets. Ultimately, your work will determine the reliability and clarity of the moment a customer decides to pay.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Lead the strategic product roadmap for payment processing, routing optimization, and integrations with global and regional gateways.
- Partner with legal and compliance functions to enhance transaction authorization rates while rigorously managing fraud prevention, KYC, KYB, and AML requirements.
- Design and continuously refine the checkout user interface to ensure the experience remains trustworthy, intuitive, and fully compliant with PCI-DSS standards.
- Define and drive go to market strategies for payment features in collaboration with commercial and strategy stakeholders.
- Work closely with engineering, data science, and product analytics teams to prototype, build, and launch new payment capabilities.
- Prioritize product opportunities and experiments based on company key performance indicators and deep user needs research.
- Serve as the central point of alignment for stakeholders across an international network, ensuring cohesion with the broader consumer lifecycle.
- Establish measurement frameworks and run controlled experiments to monitor product performance and drive iterative improvements.
- Evaluate emerging payment technologies and alternative methods to assess their potential impact on the talabat ecosystem.
- Translate complex regulatory and technical requirements into clear product specifications for the engineering team.
- Own the end to end delivery of payment initiatives, monitoring progress, risks, and dependencies from conception to launch.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners, including banking institutions and payment service providers.
- Analyze funnel and operational data to identify drop off points and opportunities for optimization in the payment journey.
- Champion a culture of experimentation, using insights to validate hypotheses and scale successful changes across markets.
Requirements
- Demonstrate proven experience as a product manager specifically within payment systems or financial infrastructure environments.
- Show a strong ability to work hands on to unblock teams and solve intricate technical or operational challenges.
- Maintain a solid background in data analysis and the setup of experiments to accurately measure product success.
- Exhibit the capability to prioritize high impact tasks independently in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
- Communicate effectively with a wide spectrum of stakeholders, adapting your style for junior team members and senior leadership alike.
- Take full accountability for end to end product delivery, seeing initiatives through from initial concept to final execution.
- Navigate ambiguous situations and make informed decisions with limited data or incomplete information.
