Accounting & Reporting Manager
Job description
About the role
The Accounting & Reporting Manager will lead month-end closing and audit activities for legal entities in Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Poland while managing a team of four to six accountants. This role ensures strict adherence to reporting deadlines and compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and local tax requirements. The position holder will conduct in-depth analysis to explain variances between actual performance and the Business Plan and supervise monthly reconciliations for profit and loss statements and balance sheets. Collaboration with local, regional, and headquarters finance teams is central to driving continuous process improvements and organizational success. You will oversee the Purchase to Pay process during month-end closing for entities across 22 countries within the Glovo Group and provide support with point-to-point disclosures to ensure accurate and timely statutory financial statements and reports. Leading a team of three to six accountants, whether from local markets or international backgrounds, is a core responsibility that requires hands-on guidance and development. You will work alongside local accounting teams to harmonize the Purchase to Pay process across the group while reviewing and approving monthly reconciliations related to point-to-point accounts on the balance sheet and profit or loss. Ensuring that all accounting and financial policies and procedures related to point-to-point processes align with prevailing legislation is essential, and you will proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and drive their execution and implementation. You will actively participate in implementing local ERPs and other finance initiatives tied to point-to-point processes and prepare ad hoc analyses to clarify deviations between profit or loss and business plan targets to support leadership decision-making. Adapting swiftly to changes in corporate policy, tax regulations, and legislation is necessary, and collaboration with the FinOps team ensures that accounting flows remain aligned with business needs.
