What you'll do
- Research and identify potential new clients and market segments where D2l products can deliver value
- Conduct outbound prospecting through phone calls, email campaigns, and social media outreach to build a qualified pipeline
- Qualify incoming leads by understanding prospect needs and determining whether they are a good fit for D2l solutions
- Schedule and coordinate discovery meetings and product demonstrations with members of the sales and account teams
- Maintain thorough and accurate records of all prospect interactions within the company customer relationship management system
- Collaborate closely with marketing colleagues to develop targeted outreach materials, content, and campaigns for new audiences
- Follow up promptly with interested prospects to address questions, provide additional information, and move deals forward
- Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to generate new leads and build valuable professional network connections
- Work hand in hand with account executives to hand off qualified opportunities and support further deal development
- Provide regular written and verbal reports on prospecting activity, pipeline status, and conversion metrics to leadership
- Support the broader sales team by preparing presentations, proposals, and customized materials for prospective clients
- Monitor competitor activity and emerging market trends to inform business development strategies and identify white space opportunities
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or equivalent practical experience in business, marketing, communications, or a closely related field
- One to three years of demonstrated experience in sales, business development, or a customer-facing role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate value propositions clearly and persuasively
- Comfort with cold calling and proactive outreach to new contacts, organizations, and decision makers
- Proficiency with CRM software and standard office productivity tools including word processing and spreadsheet applications
- Self-motivated individual who can independently manage a prospect pipeline and consistently meet activity and performance targets
- Willingness to work on-site at the Kitchener, Ontario office on a full-time schedule with standard hours
- Genuine interest in education technology and a desire to contribute meaningfully to the learning sector
Nice to have
- Prior experience working with educational institutions, school districts, or e-learning platforms in a sales capacity
- Familiarity with the Brightspace learning management system or comparable LMS products and their core features
- Bilingual capabilities in English and French, which are valuable for outreach across the Canadian market
- Experience using sales automation platforms and LinkedIn Sales Navigator to streamline the prospecting workflow
- Background in inside sales or a fast-paced business development environment where targets and deadlines drive activity
