The Business Development Representative position is based in London and is responsible for owning the full cycle of outbound prospecting within assigned target accounts. The hire will actively promote D2l Products and Services while initiating and nurturing early-stage conversations with decision makers. This role owns the responsibility of establishing credible customer relationships and qualifying opportunities to move efficiently into the sales pipeline. The successful candidate will generate a steady stream of qualified, motivated leads that directly support the Sales teams in achieving their objectives. You will maintain a deep understanding of the company's solutions, competitive landscape, and the specific needs of the education and corporate sectors. What you'll do
Actively execute outbound calling campaigns to discover and create new sales opportunities across target institutions. Assume ownership for exceeding performance objectives within your assigned geographic and institutional territory. Articulate D2l's unique value proposition and construct solution-focused visioning discussions with prospective customers. Capture and qualify leads with precision, drawing from sources such as tradeshows, webinars, inbound calls, and marketing initiatives. Manage the full sales pipeline from initial contact through to qualified opportunity status, ensuring consistent progress. Collaborate closely with Sales teams to convert qualified leads into scheduled discovery sessions and formal proposals. Conduct detailed research into target accounts to identify key stakeholders, business priorities, and potential use cases for D2l solutions. Utilize internal tools responsibly to streamline administrative tasks, while strictly adhering to guidelines that prevent AI tools from ranking resumes or influencing hiring decisions. Represent D2l professionally in all interactions, maintaining a polished demeanor and strong commitment to relationship building. Support the generation of high-quality marketing insights by reporting on prospect responses and market feedback to refine outreach strategies. Demonstrate adaptability in adjusting tactics based on engagement results and evolving customer needs within the education and corporate markets. Contribute to the overall growth targets of D2l by consistently delivering a high volume of qualified leads and advancing opportunities. Engage in continuous learning of product features, market trends, and competitive differentiators to enhance effectiveness. Act as a critical link between early-stage prospects and the broader Sales organization, ensuring smooth transition and alignment. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all customer interactions and pipeline activities within the designated systems.
