About the role
As a Crewing & Dispatch Coordinator at Bamboohr, you will play a vital role in the efficient operation of our maritime services. You will be responsible for coordinating the movement of personnel to and from vessels, maintaining accurate records, and facilitating communication between crew members and management. What you'll do
- Oversee the scheduling of crew members for various maritime operations, ensuring that all shifts are adequately staffed and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate the logistics of crew transportation, including flights, accommodations, and ground transportation, to ensure timely arrivals and departures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of crew qualifications, certifications, and training to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for crew members, addressing their inquiries and concerns regarding schedules, travel arrangements, and other operational matters.
- Collaborate with vessel management teams to understand crew needs and ensure that the right personnel are assigned to each vessel based on their skills and experience.
- Monitor crew performance and attendance, providing reports to management and identifying any potential issues that may arise.
- Assist in the onboarding process for new crew members, including the collection of necessary documentation and the facilitation of training sessions.
- Implement and maintain a crew database to streamline scheduling and record-keeping processes, ensuring easy access to information for management and crew members alike.
- Work closely with the safety department to ensure that all crew members are compliant with safety protocols and have the necessary certifications for their roles.
- Participate in regular meetings with management to discuss crew-related issues, operational challenges, and potential improvements to processes.
- Stay informed about changes in maritime regulations and industry best practices to ensure that the company remains compliant and competitive.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to crew management and dispatch operations.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in crew coordination, dispatch, or a related field within the maritime industry.
- Strong understanding of maritime regulations and crew management practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficient in using scheduling software and crew management systems.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in record-keeping and reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to travel as needed.
