About the Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Master Data Analyst to join our growing Data Operations team. In this role, you will own the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of critical business data that underpins regulatory compliance and customer operations. You will investigate and resolve data issues, perform data quality checks, and support governance standards across the organization. You will collaborate closely with business and technology teams to understand requirements and ensure correct data setup for impactful projects. Key facts
What You'll Do
- Maintain and update master data across core business systems, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency for regulatory workflows.
- Perform data quality checks, validations, reconciliations, and cleansing activities to eliminate errors and enforce standards.
- Investigate and resolve data issues raised by business users in a timely manner, minimizing disruption to compliance processes.
- Support regulatory and compliance requirements through well-governed data management practices and precise data handling.
- Collaborate with business and technology teams to interpret data requirements and ensure correct data setup across systems.
- Analyse data trends, anomalies, and quality issues to identify root causes and recommend sustainable solutions.
- Support data migrations, system enhancements, and testing activities to safeguard data integrity during changes.
- Contribute to the development of data standards, processes, documentation, and governance practices for long-term consistency.
- Assist with the adoption of AI-enabled tools and automation solutions to improve operational efficiency in data operations.
- Help deliver reliable, high-quality data that supports both internal operations and customer-facing processes across the organization.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a data-related role, with a proven track record of ownership and impact.
- Experience working with master data, data quality, or data operations processes in complex environments.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong data analysis capability to interpret large datasets and derive insights.
- Working knowledge of MS SQL Server and basic SQL query writing for data extraction and validation.
- Experience identifying, investigating, and resolving data quality issues using structured methods and tools.
- Strong understanding of data governance and data quality practices, including policies, standards, and frameworks.
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders across business and technology teams to align on data requirements and priorities.
- Experience using ticketing systems to manage work and data requests, ensuring traceability and timely resolution.
Nice to Have
- SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) for building and maintaining data integration processes.
- Microsoft Azure familiarity, particularly with data services and cloud-based analytics.
- Experience with data quality and master data management tools used in regulated environments.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled or automation platforms that support regulatory intelligence workflows.
Practical Notes
This role is hybrid, requiring 5 days per month onsite in Colombo. The position sits within the Data Operations department, and you will report to the Team Lead, Master Data.
