What you'll do
Define and communicate a clear product vision that aligns with Coursera's broader mission and strategic objectives for the coming quarters.
Lead end-to-end product discovery and delivery processes for features that serve millions of global learners across diverse markets.
Work with engineering managers and designers to prioritize backlog items, refine requirements, and ensure consistent product quality throughout the development cycle.
Analyze user behavior data and market trends to identify opportunities for product improvement, expansion, and long-term growth.
Partner with stakeholders across marketing, content, and operations teams to ensure that product decisions are well-informed and grounded in user research.
Own the product lifecycle from initial concept through rollout, including writing detailed specifications and coordinating cross-team launch efforts.
Facilitate cross-team alignment by running product reviews, sprint planning sessions, and retrospective meetings to maintain momentum and transparency.
Measure the impact of product changes using key performance indicators and iterate on solutions based on quantitative and qualitative results.
Represent the product function in leadership reviews and external partnership discussions when alignment on product direction is needed.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to ensure a shared understanding of product goals and timelines.
Requirements
Proven track record of product management experience in consumer technology or education technology companies, with a focus on delivering user-centered products.
Strong ability to work independently and make sound product decisions in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and tight timelines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting product strategies, roadmaps, and trade-off analyses to diverse internal and external audiences.
Experience partnering with engineering and design teams to ship products at scale while maintaining high standards of reliability and performance.
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems, synthesize insights from multiple data sources, and turn findings into prioritized product initiatives.
Familiarity with online learning platforms or educational content ecosystems is expected, along with an appreciation for the unique challenges of this space.
Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to navigate competing priorities across multiple teams, stakeholders, and business objectives simultaneously.
A degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience in product management, with a strong foundation in analytical thinking.

Background in data-driven decision-making using experimentation, A/B testing frameworks, and rigorous statistical analysis methods to validate product hypotheses.

Prior experience managing vendor relationships or third-party integrations in a product management capacity, ensuring smooth collaboration with external partners.
Skills & tools

Experience with product analytics platforms and data visualization tools for tracking user engagement, retention, and conversion metrics over time.
Familiarity with project management software for organizing roadmaps, managing dependencies, and tracking deliverables across multiple workstreams.

Ability to create clear and comprehensive product documentation including PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and journey maps.
Comfort with SQL or similar query languages for pulling and analyzing data independently without relying on specialized data teams.
