About the role
You own the end to end strategy for offers and promotions within the combined Coursera and Udemy consumer businesses. This role requires you to define the economic guardrails and exception processes that govern how, when, and why we discount across our global portfolio. You will build the business cases and uplift models that turn ambiguous promotional questions into clear, numbers-backed decisions. You partner closely with Pricing, Data Science, Finance, and Marketing to ensure every promotion drives learner value, retention, and long term business outcomes. You will report into the Director of Commercial Policy and Retention within the Monetization team. You are responsible for creating the frameworks that let the business run promotions confidently at scale across both legacy and newly integrated products.

What you'll do
Develop and own the end to end offer strategy and economics for the combined Coursera and Udemy consumer businesses.
Build uplift models, forecasts, and LTV to CAC frameworks that make tradeoffs visible and quantify the financial impact of promotional strategies.
Partner with Pricing, Data Science, Finance, and Marketing to translate promotion ideas into defensible business cases and guardrails.
Design discount frameworks and commercial policies that balance learner value, retention, and long term business outcomes.
Create exception processes and governance guardrails that enable the business to run promotions confidently and consistently at scale.
Translate ambiguous promotional questions into rigorous, numbers backed answers using analytical rigor and sound judgment.
Work cross functionally with Monetization, Product, and Partnerships to define and scale unique products across the combined platform.
Define and track core metrics for promotions to ensure alignment with retention, acquisition, and profitability goals.
Lead data driven discussions with stakeholders to prioritize promotional investments and optimize offer strategies.
Establish the reporting and insights structures that keep the business informed of promotion performance and emerging risks.
Champion a culture of experimentation by designing tests that validate hypotheses and refine promotional approaches over time.
Own the narrative for how offers and promotions support the overall monetization strategy and learner outcomes.
Ensure all promotional activities comply with regional regulations and internal policies across the global markets we serve.
Continuously scan the market and competitive landscape to identify new promotional tactics and best practices that can be leveraged.
Requirements
You will only be considered for this role if you meet the following criteria without exception.
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
You have 8+ years of experience in analytics, business strategy, or a related field.
You have 3+ years of experience owning offer and promotion strategy in a commercial environment.
You are fluent in SQL and comfortable writing queries to analyze large data sets.
You have advanced proficiency in a statistical programming language such as R or Python.
You have experience building and interpreting regression models to support business decisions.
You are comfortable working with large data sets and performing statistical analysis to drive decisions.
You have excellent communication skills and can translate complex analytical concepts into clear recommendations.
You are a self starter who thrives in a fast paced, ambiguous environment.
You are comfortable making decisions with incomplete information and prioritizing work based on impact.
You have strong judgment and can balance tradeoffs between learner experience, revenue, and profitability.
You are a collaborative partner who enjoys working cross functionally with stakeholders across functions.
You are comfortable presenting to senior leadership and defending recommendations with data.
You are detail oriented and can manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of work.
Nice to have
Experience in ecommerce, marketplace, or subscription businesses is preferred.
Background in education technology or EdTech experience is a plus.
Experience with A B testing and experimentation platforms is valued.
Familiarity with customer lifecycle and retention modeling is preferred.
Experience with pricing optimization and promotional analytics tools is a plus.
Practical notes
This role is eligible for remote work in the United States. Roles may be filled in Denver or Austin locations.
This is a full time position.
The work week is 40 hours.
This role does not require travel.
