About the Role
You will define rugged hardware concepts and shepherd them through full production for edge-AI security systems. Your responsibility is to ensure compute, power, and connectivity solutions survive harsh field conditions. You will guide cameras and sensors from initial sketches to global deployment. Success requires balancing industrial design, manufacturing constraints, and field performance.

Responsibilities
You will own the end-to-end development of hardware products critical to our platform. Your work will directly influence how our systems are deployed in real-world environments.
- Lead the design, development, and validation of electromechanical assemblies, balancing performance, manufacturability, and cost.
- Own the complete product lifecycle from initial prototype through EVT, DVT, and PVT stages, culminating in vendor handoff and field deployment.
- Manage vendor and supplier relationships to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality components and assemblies.
- Act as a proactive self-starter, taking initiative and urgency to solve problems in fast-moving environments.
- Drive execution across multiple workstreams with clear ownership and accountability.
- Translate abstract concepts into physical proofs of concept to validate feasibility before mass production.
- Guide thermal and vibration strategies to ensure edge devices perform reliably in demanding conditions.
- Craft design solutions for sheet metal and injection molding that are robust and cost-effective.
- Coordinate closely with industrial design and production teams to align design intent with operational reality.
- Champion on-site presence to enable rapid iterations when teams work in the same room.
- Explore new fabrication methods and materials to expand your engineering impact and solve complex problems.
Qualifications
Your background and skills must meet the following criteria.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Bring 2-5 years of hands-on experience in electromechanical or hardware product development.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in CAD tools such as Fusion 360 or SolidWorks.
- Apply DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) practices for sheet metal and injection molding.
- Design with a working knowledge of thermal behavior, vibration, and environmental factors.
- Thrive in fast-moving, demanding situations while maintaining a focus on details.
- Communicate clearly in writing and speech, influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Work effectively in an onsite environment to accelerate progress through in-person collaboration.
Nice to Have
Certain additional skills will strengthen your application.
- Fluency in Chinese and experience leading vendor engagement or manufacturing with partners in Taiwan and China.
- Strong hands-on prototyping instincts, turning half-formed ideas into working physical proofs of concept and iterating quickly.
- Self-driven initiative to learn new fabrication methods, materials, and processes to broaden your engineering range.
- The ability to take projects from unformed ideas to working hardware without waiting for direction.
