Software Engineer
Job description
Software Engineer at Coram Ai.
About the role
Opportunity Overview
Coram AI is seeking a Software Engineer to join our London team. This position is central to our mission of redefining video security for the modern era. The successful candidate will own the complete lifecycle for video security features, turning camera feeds into intelligent, reliable systems. Your work will directly shape how AI observes environments, coordinates teams, and delivers clear information to organizations. You will craft code that balances execution speed with system stability while maintaining rigorous standards for privacy and uptime.
This is a full-time, onsite role located in London. The compensation package ranges from 150,000 USD to 180,000 USD per year.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for designing intake pipelines that reliably collect video and sensor streams for analysis. Your architectural decisions will govern backend services that process high-volume media while enabling AI-native search capabilities. You will craft TypeScript and React user interfaces, empowering teams to explore clips and construct focused reports. You will build robust APIs that connect edge devices with routing logic and model execution paths.
Defining system architecture and making key infrastructure choices will be essential for resilient operations. You will solve complex distributed processing challenges to support real-time alerts and ensure continuous availability. Collaboration with product teams is crucial to scope features that align with both safety objectives and business goals. You will also guide decisions regarding scaling patterns as data volume and model complexity increase over time.
Essential Qualifications
You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or possess comparable experience gained through practice. You write strong backend code in Golang, Python, or C++ to handle demanding workloads. Your expertise includes building user interfaces using TypeScript and React alongside common data libraries.
You demonstrate the ability to design services that scale, applying best practices for APIs and backend integrity. Comfort with containers, orchestration, and cloud-native deployment flows is required. You understand how AI tools can effectively assist coding, testing, and workflow decisions. Your background includes experience in startups or managing large-scale transitions, where you shaped systems from the ground up.
You maintain a strong focus on performance, reliability, and clean architecture within complex software systems. Thriving in fast-paced environments where requirements evolve quickly is essential. You communicate with exceptional clarity in writing and speech, influencing stakeholders across teams and organizational levels. Your ability to work onsite in London enables regular collaboration and coordination.
Preferred Experience
Experience with multimodal AI, computer vision, and large language model workflows is a significant advantage.
Compensation and Benefits
This role offers a competitive salary between 150,000 USD and 180,000 USD per year. The package includes flexible paid time off and paid holidays. You will also receive early-stage equity in a rapidly growing company, along with referral bonuses. The team enjoys daily dinners and regular off-sites to build connection and momentum.
