What you'll do

• Assist in the setup and dismantling of drilling rigs and equipment, ensuring that all components are in optimal working condition.
• Operate and maintain drilling tools and machinery, performing routine checks and troubleshooting as necessary.
• Collaborate with drillers to monitor drilling progress and adjust parameters to optimize performance and efficiency.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your team members.
• Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Document drilling activities, including depth, rate of penetration, and any issues encountered during operations.
• Support the collection and handling of geological samples, ensuring they are properly labeled and stored for analysis.
• Assist in the maintenance of a clean and organized worksite, including the proper disposal of waste materials.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in drilling operations or a related field.
• Valid safety certifications, such as First Aid and WHMIS, are required.
• Strong understanding of drilling techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
• Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in high-pressure situations.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the worksite.
• Familiarity with geological and geotechnical principles is an asset.
