What you'll do

• Operate diamond drilling rigs in various geological settings, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational guidelines.
• Conduct pre-drilling site assessments to evaluate ground conditions and determine the most effective drilling techniques.
• Collaborate with geologists and project managers to develop drilling plans that align with exploration objectives.
• Monitor drilling progress and performance, making adjustments as necessary to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
• Maintain and troubleshoot drilling equipment, ensuring all tools are in good working condition and compliant with safety regulations.
• Collect and document geological samples during drilling operations, ensuring proper labeling and storage for further analysis.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in diamond drilling, with a strong background in mineral exploration.
• Proven ability to operate various types of diamond drilling rigs and associated equipment.
• In-depth knowledge of drilling techniques, geological formations, and safety practices in the field.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to remote locations as required.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as project demands dictate.
• Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding tasks in challenging outdoor conditions.

• Experience with advanced drilling technologies and techniques, such as wireline coring or directional drilling.
