As a , you will play a role in the design, development, and execution of satellite operations for innovative space missions. What you'll do
- Lead the operational planning and execution of satellite missions, ensuring all activities align with project objectives and timelines.
- Develop and implement mission operations procedures, including pre-launch, launch, and post-launch phases, to ensure satellite deployment and functionality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineering, software development, and mission analysis, to integrate operational requirements into satellite design and mission planning.
- Analyze mission data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimize future operations.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential challenges during mission execution.
- Provide technical expertise in satellite communications, telemetry, and control systems to enhance mission success.
- Participate in the development of training materials and conduct training sessions for operational teams to ensure a high level of preparedness for mission activities.
- Engage with stakeholders, including government agencies and commercial partners, to communicate mission objectives and operational capabilities.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in satellite technology and operations to inform best practices and innovative solutions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes and tools, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in mission execution.
- Support the development of proposals for new missions, including technical documentation and operational plans.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices in satellite operations and mission planning.
Requirements
- A degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in satellite operations or mission planning.
- Proven experience in leading satellite operations or mission development projects, with a strong understanding of satellite systems and operational workflows.
- Familiarity with satellite communication protocols, telemetry, and control systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and make informed decisions.
- Excellent project management skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools for mission planning and operations, such as MATLAB, STK, or similar applications.
Nice to have
- Experience with space debris mitigation technologies and strategies.
- Knowledge of international space regulations and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or C++ for automation and data analysis tasks.
- Previous experience working in a start-up or fast-paced environment within the aerospace sector.
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a relevant field is a plus.
