What you'll do

• Develop comprehensive test plans and procedures for ground segment systems, ensuring thorough coverage of all functionalities.
• Execute tests in both simulated and real-world environments to validate system performance against requirements.
• Collaborate with software and hardware engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during testing phases.
• Analyze test results and document findings, providing clear and actionable insights to the engineering teams.
• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on system architecture and design to enhance testability.
• Support the integration of new technologies and systems into the existing ground segment framework.
• Maintain and update testing tools and environments to ensure they are equipped for current and future testing needs.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and interns in testing methodologies and best practices.
• Work closely with project managers to ensure that testing timelines align with project schedules and deliverables.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for process enhancement within the testing lifecycle.
• Prepare and present test reports to stakeholders, highlighting key findings, risks, and recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements throughout the testing process.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in testing, particularly within aerospace or satellite systems.
• Strong understanding of ground segment operations and satellite communication systems.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similar for automation of testing processes.
• Experience with test management tools and methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
• Familiarity with software development life cycles and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Nice to have

• Experience with satellite ground control software and systems.
• Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing techniques.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards related to aerospace testing.
• Experience in a multi-national work environment, with an understanding of cross-cultural communication.
• Advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in using testing frameworks and tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or similar.
• Familiarity with simulation tools and environments used in aerospace testing.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and derive meaningful conclusions.
• Knowledge of performance testing and validation techniques specific to ground segment systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is advantageous.
