What you'll do
- Design and execute comprehensive test plans for mechatronic systems, ensuring that all components function as intended under various conditions.
- Analyze test data and generate detailed reports that summarize findings, providing insights into system performance and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware and software engineers, to troubleshoot issues and refine system designs based on test results.
- Develop and maintain test setups, including the necessary instrumentation and software tools, to facilitate efficient and accurate testing processes.
- Conduct failure analysis on components and systems, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to enhance reliability.
- Participate in design reviews, offering feedback on testability and manufacturability of new designs to ensure they meet project requirements.

- Support the integration of mechatronic systems into larger spacecraft systems, ensuring compatibility and performance standards are met.
- Document all testing procedures and results in accordance with Bamboohr's quality assurance protocols, ensuring traceability and compliance.
- Mentor junior engineers and interns, sharing knowledge and best practices in testing and mechatronics.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assist in the preparation of technical presentations for stakeholders, showcasing test results and system capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in testing mechatronic systems or related engineering roles.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electronic, and software integration principles.
- Proficiency in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and data acquisition systems.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB for test automation and data analysis.
- Familiarity with CAD software for designing test fixtures and setups.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple projects and deadlines.

- Experience in the aerospace or space industry, particularly with systems designed for harsh environments.
