What you'll do

Design and develop algorithms for navigation and control of autonomous vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently in dynamic environments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware and software components, ensuring communication between systems.
Conduct simulations and testing of AIV systems to validate performance, reliability, and safety under various conditions.
Analyze data collected from AIV operations to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary adjustments to enhance functionality.
Participate in the full product lifecycle, from concept through to deployment, ensuring that all engineering standards and best practices are adhered to.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the development and operational phases of AIV projects.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in AIV technology and robotics, applying new knowledge to improve existing systems and processes.
Prepare technical documentation and reports to communicate findings and progress to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
Mentor junior engineers and interns, providing guidance and support to foster their professional development within the field.
Engage with external partners and stakeholders to explore collaborative opportunities and share insights on AIV technology advancements.
Contribute to the development of safety protocols and standards for AIV operations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Participate in industry conferences and workshops to represent Clearspace and share knowledge on AIV innovations and applications.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in robotics, automation, or a related domain, with a focus on autonomous systems.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java, with a strong understanding of software development principles.
Experience with robotic operating systems (ROS) and simulation tools such as Gazebo or V-REP.
Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms and their application in robotics and autonomous systems.
Familiarity with sensor technologies, including LIDAR, cameras, and IMUs, and their integration into AIV systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
A proactive approach to learning and adapting to new technologies and methodologies in the field of AIV engineering.

Nice to have

Experience with cloud computing platforms and data analytics tools for processing large datasets.
Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to autonomous vehicles and robotics.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and project management tools.
Previous experience in a startup environment or fast-paced tech company.
Contributions to open-source projects related to robotics or AIV technology.
