About the role

As a Technical Leader specializing in the design of High Voltage (HTB) and Medium Voltage (HTA) substations, you will play a crucial role in shaping the technical architecture of electrical installations. Your expertise will guide the development of essential studies, detailed designs, and the coordination of various engineering disciplines. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with industry standards and managing technical specifications for suppliers. Key facts

What you'll do

• Define the technical architecture for HTB/HTA substations (both AIS and GIS) based on network connection data.
• Lead foundational studies including single-line diagrams, power balance assessments, and calculations for short circuits, grounding, and insulation.
• Oversee the detailed design phase, which includes functional analyses, protection-command synoptics, cable schedules, and layout plans.
• Coordinate various engineering disciplines such as civil engineering, control-command, telecommunications, HVAC, and protection systems to ensure overall project coherence.
• Draft technical specifications for factories and suppliers, covering transformers, HTB equipment, HTA cells, and auxiliary systems.
• Facilitate technical meetings, design reviews, and risk assessments to ensure project alignment and stakeholder engagement.
• Review and validate technical deliverables prior to client distribution to maintain quality and accuracy.
• Participate actively in the offer, execution, and site support phases, addressing technical clarifications and managing non-conformities.
• Ensure adherence to relevant standards and regulations (including RTE substation directives, NF C13-200, and T&D rules) while consolidating the project documentation.

Requirements

• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnics, or a related field (BAC+5).
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the design or execution of HTA/HTB substations.
• Proficiency in HTB/HTA substation architectures (both AIS and GIS) and single-line diagrams.
• Strong knowledge of T&D standards, including grounding and protection regulations.
• Familiarity with control-command systems and multi-disciplinary interfaces (civil engineering, HVAC, telecommunications, SCADA).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and layouts effectively.
• Proficient in MS Project for project management and scheduling.
• Professional proficiency in English to communicate effectively with international teams and clients.
• Demonstrated technical leadership skills with the ability to unite multi-disciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and partners.
• A strong sense of rigor, autonomy, organization, and results-oriented mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
• Knowledge of renewable energy systems and their integration into existing infrastructures.
• Familiarity with software tools for electrical design and simulation.
• Previous experience in managing large-scale energy projects.
• Understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements in the energy sector.

Practical notes

• Salary for a permanent contract ranges from €45,000 to €60,000 gross per year.
